5. Professional Learning Communities

To provide support for the teacher partners and to provide an opportunity for them to share with other teachers in their grade level or in different grades, we recommend that schools provide time at least once a month for teacher to meet in study groups/professional learning communities. In these study groups, teachers and their partners can discuss what they learned about teaching the selected instructional activity/strategy/competency for that month and how they might improve their teaching in the future.
